WORSHIP

In time, this page will become more reflective of the things that we are going to be doing in Lander Wesley, but in the meantime, I thought that I'd give you a little of my views on worship.

In his book, "The Air I Breathe" and in other worship resources, Louie Gigglio makes the case that everyone worships.  His friend and songwriter Chris Tomlin sings a song called, "Made to Worship" that includes the line, "You and I were made to worship!"   The problem is that sometimes we focus our worship in directions that just aren't particularly productive.  For example, when I'm tired, when I have a lot on my mind, sometimes my worship becomes clouded and distracted.

Worship is about opening up the avenue between us and God.  It's about being able to share together and it takes all forms.

Worship can come through music, through scripture, through hearing a message that speaks to us, through prayer, through drama, through touching something that connects us to words from the scripture.

But one of the biggest things that I like about worship is the element of surprise!

When you come to LWF Worship, I want you to walk out thinking that there's something you've never thought about before, or that there's something new. Or, that there's a way of thinking about Jesus that you've never known was possible.

Also, I'd love to have your help in planning for worship and your participation.  If you are interested, just let me know and we'll set up a weekly worship planning committee that's going to think about all things related to worship!

Thanks,

Dean
